Letter to Coaches and Club Presidents:
This has been an unbelievable situation. We had more than 400 swimmers committed to the Senior Meet, which was all that was allowed per our LSC. We had almost 500 swimmers committed for the Age Group meet, which was to be held the following weekend. After West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Maryland, New Jersey, Connecticut, and Massachusetts closed down a little over a week ago, we were down to 240 swimmers between the two meets. With the strong support of the Virginia LSC, we were able to combine the meets and make one event. Attached you will find the timeline for both the Senior and Age Group meet.
We will have one combined Senior Session on Thursday, Dec 3.
- Long course.
Friday, Dec 4, morning, we will have another combined Senior Session.
- Long course.
Mid-afternoon Friday, we will have our last combined Senior Session.
- Long course.
The three above sessions are all Long Course Meters for senior swimmers.
Then we FLIP the Pool to short-course yards for Friday evening.
- We will flip the pool at the end of the senior, long-course session on Friday afternoon, and run our first session of the Age Group meet in yards, short course, starting Friday evening.
Friday evening is the first Age Group session.
- Short course begins.
Saturday and Sunday we will have a combined Senior session in the morning, a combined Age Group session in the afternoon, and another combined Senior session in the evening.
- These will all be done in yards, short-course.
- Summary: Thursday and Friday, up until 4:00 p.m., all events are Long Course Meter. We will then flip the pool and the rest of the weekend, after the Friday afternoon session and compete in short course yards events for the remainder of the weekend.
